As part of the commemoration of the centenary of the Young Christian Workers movement, YCW Paraguay organized its first national “Youth and Work” seminar in San Juan Nepomuceno on April 12.
The overall objective of the seminar was to promote analysis and reflection on the working conditions of young workers in Paraguay, identifying the challenges, opportunities and possible solutions to guarantee access to decent employment and the protection of labor rights. This meeting provided a unique space for reflection and analysis of the reality of young workers in Paraguay, thus reaffirming their commitment to social transformation.
In preparation for this important event, the movement's grassroots organized pre-seminars, training and dialogue sessions where young people deepened their understanding of the YCW “see, judge, act” methodology and the current challenges of the world of work. The aim of these meetings was to generate a collective analysis that would enable young people to come to the seminar with concrete proposals and a clear vision of the role of the YCW today.
These pre-seminars not only strengthened the active participation of the grassroots, but also the commitment of activists to build a stronger movement with a greater impact on the lives of young workers.
As the Paraguayan YCW explains, “the national seminar is an opportunity to share these reflections, exchange experiences and plan concrete actions for the future of the YCW in Paraguay. Through these activities, we continue to build a vibrant, committed and ever-evolving movement, while honoring the 100-year history of the YCW and projecting its mission towards new generations”.
